PDP Asks DSS To Arrest Buhari, Tinubu, Amaechi Over ‘APC Radio’

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential
Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO Wednesday asked the
Department of State Security Service, DSS, and security
agencies to arrest and question the Presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,
Muhammadu Buhari, and the party’s national leader, Bola
Tinubu over the existence of an illegal radio station
called “APC Radio or ” Radio Chanji” being used to incite
Nigerians against President Goodluck Jonathan.
Addressing Journalists Wednesday in Abuja, Director,
Media and Publicity of PDP Presidential Campaign
Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode also called on the
Security agencies to go after Governor Rotimi Amaechi of
Rivers State, former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode
Fayemi and former Nigeria Ambassador to Spain,
Ambassador Yusuf Mamman.
According to him, it became imperative to arrest and
question them because the radio station had been
broadcasting what he described “as falsehood,
propaganda as well as inciting comments periodically
over the last few days and since its inception”, adding
that “the PDP knows what Buhari, Tinubu, Amaechi are
doing anytime, even in their toilets, bedrooms, covens
and where they hold their secret meetings”.
He also accused the APC of budgeting a total of 2 million
dollars to put in place a documentary titled, “Nigerians,
What is Going On” designed to among others, discredit
President Goodluck Jonathan, the Ministers, his aides,
the government and the entire country, adding that the
services of no less than three specialists and well known
international spin doctors from two western countries
were procured.
Fani- Kayode stressed that if re- elected the president
would go after corrupt persons to ensure that every
single one who stole the nation’s money would be
brought to book.

Aisha Buhari Opens Up On How Tinubu Helped Her Husband

Hajia Aisha Buhari, yesterday, opened up on the
sacrificial support of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on her
husband’s presidential aspiration, affirming that
Tinubu’s support has brought Muhammadu Buhari’s ten-
year presidential quest to near actualisation.
Aisha spoke as Tinubu declared that President Goodluck
Jonathan’s time in office was up, lampooning the
administration for having a morbid phobia for election
upon what he claimed was years of missed opportunities
and misgovernance.
The two spoke at the 14th town hall meeting of the Lagos
Central senatorial district hosted by Senator Oluremi
Tinubu (APC senatorial candidate), an occasion that drew
some of the leading lights of the Lagos political crowd.
Mrs. Tinubu, at the occasion, blasted the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, of building castles in the air with
what she described as economic gains that did not distil
to the populace.
The 14th edition of the Lagos Central senatorial district
town-hall meeting tagged, ‘Treading the path to
prosperity’ also saw the launch of a book written by
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, entitled ‘Stewardship Report: A
collection of Town Hall Speeches (2011-2014)’
Among those present at the event were Mrs. Dolapo
Osinbajo, wife of Professor Yemi Osinbajo, APC vice-
presidential candidate; Lagos State First Lady, Dame
Abimbola Fashola, Senator Babafemi Ojodu, among
others.
Mrs. Buhari said Asiwaju jettisoned personal interest to
ensure that Professor Yemi Osinbajo emerged as vice-
presidential candidate to her husband.
She also said the forthcoming presidential election would
be a unique contest for General Buhari after three prior
runs.
“My husband, General Muhammadu Buhari has been
contesting presidential elections for over a decade now,
but this particular election is unique because our leader,
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu jettisoned his personal interest for
the sake of Nigeria.”
In his remarks, Asiwaju Tinubu said the damage the PDP
had done to Nigeria is enough, and the party should as
such be voted out.
PDP’s time is up — Tinubu
He said the PDP is afraid of elections and that was why
they had been objecting to the use of PVCs for the
forthcoming elections.
“In my life, I have never seen an incumbent President that
is afraid of elections and PVCs before. Upon all the
money the donor agencies contributed to the development
of this new technology called PVC that will eliminate
rigging, this government is running away from the
elections.
“This is a month of clean hands, and you must go to your
constituencies, wash your hands as if you are fighting
Ebola virus, everybody should wash their hands because
of the fingerprints. You must carry methylated spirits to
clean your hands before voting. The PDP is afraid, and it
is because they don’t have people.
Extolling the virtues of his wife, Tinubu stressed: “That
my wife is a senator today was not a programme I
supported. They collected the form and told me if I am
not running, then release your wife to run. Today, I am
really proud that she is a senator because she has made
the Lagos Central senatorial district a better place.
PDP reduced Nigeria to a state of anarchy — Oluremi
Tinubu
In her remarks, Senator Oluremi Tinubu said the PDP rule
has reduced the nation to a state of anarchy while the
economy is weakening due to over-dependence on oil
and excessive importation.
She said: “Although the Nigerian economy is projected as
the largest in Africa, this has not translated into visible
wealth per household, and there is a progressive failure in
Nigeria under the watch of the ruling PDP.
“As elections draw close, I urge us to be resolute in the
choice of our leaders. The future is not about me, but it is
about our children and the legacies we want to bequeath
to them. I invite you to join me and our party, the All
Progressives Congress to work for a better Nigeria.”
Speaking of her activities, she said the town hall
meetings she introduced in 2011, is a means of feed-
back process and mechanism for accountability and
responsibility to constituents.
“In the days ahead, if I am re-elected, I intend to continue
on the path that we have chosen to walk through knowing
it leads to nation building. I intend to take on matters
relating to youth, public health, widows, prohibition of
violence and environment. I will sustain empowerment
schemes such as Petty Traders Empowerment Capital
Scheme, PETECS, Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme,
ECAS, Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition
Scheme, YESAS, Good Boys and Girls Empowerment
Scheme, GBGES, Widows Economic Empowerment
Scheme, WEES, and distribution of GCE forms as well as
sponsorship of the Muniru Muse under-15 football
competitions for boys and girls.”
Remi Tinubu is an achiever par excellence — Prince Olusi
In his speech, a leader of the APC in Lagos State, Prince
Tajudeen Olusi said Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu has performed
well and beyond expectation. He described her as an
achiever par excellence, who has exceeded her
predecessors.
The book is a reflection of selfless service of Tinubu –
Ojudu
Reviewing the book, Senator Babafemi Ojudu said the
book, ‘Stewardship Report: A collection of Town Hall
Speeches (2011-2014),’ is a book that talks about the
accountability and stewardship of the woman many
considered a woman of excellence.
He said: “Senator Tinubu is an unrepentant progressive
without any pretence and the book talks about how she
has brought governance to her people and her
achievements so far.
“The book also talks about some of the committees she
participated in the Senate, which include trade and
investment, women affairs, education and development
goals and some of her programmes in the Senate.”

I won't debate Jonathan - Buhari

Gen. Muhammudu Buhari, presidential candidiate of the
All Progressive party has questioned why he would
debate President Goodluck Jonathan who is the
presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP if the situation of the ecomony has regressed since
the PDPs assumption of power in 1999.
Buhari who promised press freedom yesterday also said
there will be no debate with President Goodluck
Jonathan. Buhari said also that change revolution
without firing a shot was imminent in the country.
Buhari, who spoke at an interactive session with
members of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of
Nigeria( NPAN) and the Nigerian Guild of Editors( NGE) in
Abuja, said there was nothing to debate after 16 years of
misrule, especially what he described as the six years of
bad governance under Jonathan.

He said: “To be fair to me and Mr. President, after 16
years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and six
years of his time, is there anything to debate?
“Very seriously, you know the condition we are in; we are
all experiencing it, no matter who you are. So, what
should I debate there?” Buhari is quoted as saying by the
Nation
On the general election, Buhari said the shift on February
14 was unnecessary, after INEC had made it clear that it
was prepared for the elections.
He gave insights into what INEC Chairman Prof. Attahiru
Jega told the Council of State meeting and how the
military differed.
He said Nigerians were waiting to see whether or not the
military would have rid Adamawa, Borno and Yobe of
Boko Haram insurgency.
He said: “I will give you the latest. When INEC submitted
a comprehensive document on February 14th election to
the Council of State, a number of us made comments.
INEC did a good job and they put it on record because
after submitting a document, you cannot withdraw it.
“They submitted a document on what they had been
doing since 2011, including training of personnel,
acquiring election materials and how they were
distributing them; and how they secured them.

“They even said they were ready to conduct the election
because they had achieved about 60 per cent distribution
of the voter cards. In the previous elections, it had never
been better than 45 per cent. But they were prepared.
“Somehow, the military told them they cannot guarantee
their security. Then six weeks were given and for
Nigerians, those six weeks were within the perimeter
allowed for the election. So, INEC said they should be
allowed to give the military six weeks.”
Gen. Buhari said Nigerians had been watching the
military on how it would secure the remaining local
government areas before the polls.

He added: “The reasons given have exposed the
inefficiency of the leadership because there were only 14
local government areas in the hands of Boko Haram.
These were 10 in Borno, two in Yobe and two in
Adamawa.

“If Nigerian military cannot secure 14 local government
areas in six years, how can they do it in six weeks. We
are watching. We have only about 10 days to go in the six
weeks. Let us see. In spite of the help of our generous
neighbors, let us see whether the remaining LGAs can be
secured.
“So, those in favour of presidential debate have a lot to
do to convince me to do it.”

At the interactive session, Buhari addressed other issues
like press freedom which he did not give during his 20-
month rule as Military head of state. Buhari promised that
the press will not be repressed in anyway.

APC House Of Assembly Candidate In Akwa Ibom Killed While Campaigning

Mr. Okon Uwah, a House of Assembly candidate in Akwa
Ibom State has being killed yesterday while campaigning
in Ward Three in the Ukanafun Local Government Area of
the State. Uwah who was killed was also a former
Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of
Assembly and was contesting on the platform of the All
Progressives Congress to represent Ukanafun State
Constituency, before meeting his untimely death.
The State Commissioner of Police who spoke to a Punch
reporter confirmed the incident and said the Governor is
angry about the killing and asked him on phone to fish
out his killers.
“I have just spoken with His Excellency, Governor
Godswill Akpabio and he said I should bring all those
responsible to book even if they are members of the
Peoples Democratic Party.
“Because of that I have changed my plan to travel to
Abuja for an engagement. I have moved the Area
Commander in Ikot Ekpene and the Divisional Police
Officers to Ukanafun,” he said. May his soul rest in peace.
