Woman gives birth on clinic lawn after being rejected – Photo that shocked the world! [LOOK]

A shocking photograph, showing a woman delivering her
baby on a hospital lawn has gone viral after it was
revealed that the woman was turned away by hospital
officials. The woman, 29-year-old Irma Lopez, was
pictured by a passerby after a nurse at the Rural Health
Center of the village of San Felipe Jalapa de Diazturned her
away saying that she was not yet due for delivery.
The couple, who are Mazatecs and do not speak Spanish,
could not understand much of what the nurse was telling
them beyond the word ‘no,’ so they went outside.
The nurses blamed the incident on the language barrier as
Lopez and her husband were of the Mazatecs ethnicity and
do not speak Spanish. They also claimed that they did not
have enough staff on hand to treat the woman due to a
partial work stoppage.
Lopez said: “I didn’t want to deliver like this. It was so
ugly and with so much pain.”
She also said she delivered herself of the baby as her
husband was busy trying to get the nurses to come to her
aid.
The government of the southern state of Oaxaca announced
that it has suspended the health center’s director, Dr.
Adrian Cruz, as officials conduct state and federal
investigations incident.
A pleased Lopez said: “I am naming him Salvador (Savior).
He really saved himself.”

Nepal quake miracle : 101 year old man found alive in rubble

A 101- year - old man has been pulled alive from rubble
more than a week after the earthquake in Nepal, Sky News
has reported quoting the French news agency , AFP.
The news came as Nepalese authorities also announced
that more than 80 foreigners could not be accounted for in
the devastating 7. 8 magnitude earthquake last week .
Laxmi Dhakal, Nepal Interior Ministry Spokesman , said on
Sunday in Kathmandu that more than 80 foreigners were
missing .
“ According to our records , 82 foreigners from different
countries are confirmed missing , ” he said.
He said police report indicated that in Kenjing Valley , site
of the famous Langtang trekking route north of
Kathmandu , a rescue operation found dead bodies of 48
people , including three foreigners buried under a
landslide .
Dhakal said investigation and available record revealed
that more than 200 people, about half of them foreigners,
were still believed to be buried under a landslide .
A four- month old baby was also found alive 22 hours
after the quake happened last Saturday . Sonit Awal was
pulled to safety Sunday morning by the Nepalese army .
The infant boy ’ s father, Shyam Awal , had called rescuers
after their house collapsed from Saturday ’ s deadly
earthquake. The rescuers had given up the search only
for them to hear the cry of the baby 22 hours after .

Fire guts Maiduguri market , destroys goods worth millions

A section of Gamboru market in Maiduguri was on
Sunday gutted by fire which destroyed about 50 shops
and goods worth millions of Naira .
Some traders in the market told NAN in Maiduguri that the
fire started at about 3 : 00 a . m. when there was nobody in
the market .
Malam Mohammed Ibrahim, a leader in the market said
that he noticed thick smoke at the market during the early
morning prayers around 5 . 00 a . m.
“ We were at the mosque praying when we saw thick
smoke coming out from the market .
“ But we could not get to the market immediately due to
the prevailing curfew in the state , ” he said .
He added that when the traders eventually got to the
market in the morning , they discovered that the fire had
destroyed several shops and goods worth millions of
Naira .
“ Nobody can say specifically the source of the fire , but
some traders leaving closed by said it started around
3 : 00 a . m. , ” Ibrahim said.
Another trader, Malam Usman Kachalla , appealed to the
state government to come to the assistance of the
government by rebuilding their shops .
A NAN correspondent , who visited the market on Sunday
reports that many traders were seen salvaging the
remains of their wares , while others stood by and
lamented the situation .
The market was gutted by fire in 2009 and 2011 .

Let us form credible opposition, David Mark tells PDP members

Senate President, David Mark , has urged PDP faithfuls to
stop bickering and face the new task of providing a
credible and formidable opposition in the country .
This was contained in a statement issued by Mark ’ s Chief
Press Secretary , Mr Paul Mumeh , and made available to
the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Abuja .
The statement said that Mark made the appeal in Abuja at
a parley with elected PDP Senators and members of the
House of Representatives .
The senate president said it was important for PDP
members to put the failure of the last elections behind
them and concentrate in building a strong and united
party , ready to offer credible opposition .
“ There is no need weeping over lost opportunities or
mistakes of yesterday .
“ The failure of yesterday should be our lesson for a better
today and a triumphant future.
“ We must accept the ups and downs as an opposition
party , that is what the PDP is now , we must remain a
united family and face the reality , ” he said .
Mark stressed that the not - too impressive showing of the
PDP in the last elections might , in the long term , be a
blessing to the party and the nation.
He said that the party must go back to the drawing board,
carry out critical review and fashion out a blue print to
get itself out of its present circumstances .
“ The role of opposition is strange to us, but it is not a
death sentence . We should be ready for the challenges .
“ We are prepared to play a credible opposition . I believe
the nation and indeed , Nigerians would be the best for it ” .
He therefore called on all stakeholders in the PDP to shun
bickerings and resolve to work together for a united and
strong party .

Abia varsity builds 10 hostels in one year

The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture , Umudike
(MOUAU ) , Abia , said that it spent N 1 . 5 billion of its
internally generated revenue (IGR ) to construct 10
hostels in the institution within one year .
Prof Hillary Edeoga , the institution ’ s Vice - Chancellor ,
told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in
Umuahia , adding that this was to provide adequate
comfort and convenience for his students .
‘ Before I was appointed in 2011 , there were only two
hostels in the institution .
“ When I came on board, I constructed 10 hostels in one
year and these hostels were inaugurated by the former
Minister of Education , Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufai .
“ We built these hostels from our IGR and each room has
its own toilet — a kind of self - contain for the four
occupants .
“ We started its construction in August 2012 and
completed them in August 2013 .
“ Having inaugurated the new hostels , we decided against
charging the old rate of N 10 , 000 per room per academic
year which was the rate in the old hostels nicknamed
‘ Ajegunle ’ .
“ Whereas , the new hostels nicknamed `Abuja’ attracted
N 60 , 000 which was not compulsory .
“ In fact, we made alternative accommodation
arrangements for the few students we could not
accommodate in the ‘ Abuja’ hostels .
“ Also, some of those who had paid but could not get
accommodations in the new hostels were given the option
of either to have their rents refunded or use them next
academic session , ” he said .
Edeoga said that the N 60 , 000 the university authorities
charged the students covered both accommodation ,
transportation and other facilities .
The VC said that the university provided 20 buses and taxi
cabs that were conveying the students around the
campus free of charge upon showing their cards from the
hostels ’ rent.
Edeoga said that prior to his appointment , some of the
colleges were on the verge of being merged but he
reversed the plan by ensuring that their courses were
accredited by the relevant professional bodies .
“ When I came on board, I rebranded the colleges and
upgraded the University ’ s ICT which made the public to
start patronising our programmes .
“ Also, our JAMB quota rose from its initial 1 , 250 to 5 , 000
at present within three years , ” he said.
Also, the institution ’ s head of public relations , Mrs
Onyinyechi Ralph- Nwachukwu , told NAN that its solar -
powered street lights manufactured in Denmark had
enhanced learning and research there .
She said that the manufacturers built them after a study of
the institution ’ s environmental needs.
Ralph- Nwachukwu said that MOUAU had not experienced
any internal strikes over the years except those ones
initiated by the national executive of then Academic Staff
Union of Universities. (ASUU) .
She said that, rather, it had continued to enjoy a seamless
flow of academic activities .
