Unknown Facts about President Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari is the 15th head of the Nigerian government since 1960, the fifth democratically elected president, the first opposition candidate to win the presidential election and the second president of Katsina origin. What else do you know about him?

1. KATSINA PRODUCES ANOTHER
PRESIDENT

Katsina state has again produced a Nigerian head of state — the third since 1983. Buhari, from Daura, then in Kaduna state, was the first. Katsina state was carved out of Kaduna state in
1987 by Ibrahim Babangida. Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, former governor of Katsina state, became the second president from Katsina in 2007. Buhari’s return in 2015 means the state
has produced yet another president. It could have been more. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, elder brother of Umaru, made a bid in 1992 and after getting the presidential ticket of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the process was cancelled. He was still hoping to contest when he was arrested and jailed for allegedly plotting a coup in 1995. He did not come out of the prison alive.

2. THIRD EX-GOVERNOR TO BE
PRESIDENT

There is yet another interesting fact about Buhari — he has joined the league of former governors to be elected president. Having served as the military governor of the old north- eastern state from 1975 to 1976, he has equalled the record of Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who became president in 2007 after serving as Katsina governor from 1999-2007, and Goodluck Jonathan, who was Bayelsa governor from 2005-2007. The major difference, though, is that Buhari was a military, not an elected, governor. The north-eastern state governed by
him is now broken into six: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.

3. ANOTHER EX-MINISTER AS
PRESIDENT

Murtala Muhammed. Olusegun Obasanjo. Shehu Shagari. Sani Abacha. Muhammadu Buhari. They all have something in common — they are all former ministers who went on to become heads of state. Muhammed was federal commissioner (minister) for communications under Gowon until the 1975 coup when he became head of state. Obasanjo, head of state from 1976 after Muhammed’s death, was
federal commissioner for works. Obasanjo appointed Buhari federal commissioner for petroleum and natural resources in 1976.
Shagari, who was elected president in 1979, was minister of economic development in 1960, minister of internal affairs in 1962 and minister
of works and survey in 1965. Abacha was appointed minister of defence by Babangida in 1990.

4. OLDEST PRESIDENT

Buhari is the oldest person to assume the office of president in Nigeria. He is 72 years and five months old. He broke the record set by Obasanjo in 1999 who became the oldest Nigerian president at 62. The youngest remains Gowon, who was made head of state a few months shy of his 32nd birthday in 1966. Two
other heads of state assumed office in their thirties: Muhammed (37) in 1975 and Obasanjo (38) in 1976. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (47), Ironsi (41), Buhari (41) and Babangida (41) all ruled in their forties. Shagari (54), Shonekan
(57), Abacha (50), Abdulsalami Abubakar (55), Yar’Adua (55) and Jonathan (52) assumed office in their fifties. The most common age is 41.

5. CHILD NO. 23

Buhari is not short of elder brothers and
sisters. He was born Child No. 23 to the family of Adamu Buhari in Daura, Katsina state, on December 17, 1942. His mother’s name was Zulaihat — the name he gave to his first daughter. He is a monogamist, like all previous Nigerian leaders (apart from Obasanjo and Shagari). Buhari divorced his first wife in 1988 and remarried in 1989.

6. ADDICT OF BBC HAUSA SERVICE

Buhari listens to BBC Hausa service religious. He told TheCable in an interview last year: “I am an avid listener of the Voice of America and
the BBC, Hausa service. This is because over the years I have discovered that they have been
very, very helpful in educating the mostly illiterate Hausa-speaking populace. From Agadez or even from Tripoli down almost to South Africa, and from Senegal to Central Africa Republic, there is large body of Hausa- speaking communities, not necessarily Nigerian or Hausa, but those who speak the
language because of trading over the centuries. I found out VOA and BBC commentaries on politics and economics very good. They help to
educate people. And they allow people to discuss, express different opinions and they interpret it, and I find that very helpful.”

7. PRO-AUSTERITY

For those who may be wondering about his economic direction, Buhari does not run away from adopting austerity policies in the face of economic crunch. In his first budget in 1984, he announced a range of belt-tightening measures to combat the crisis. These measures included: a temporary ban on recruitment, raising of interest rates, suspension of capital projects, and embargo on borrowing by states, among others.

8. RIDING HORSES

In the absence of real horses, he enjoyed playing with straw horses as a kid. Sani Abubakar Dan Kurma, one of his elementary school classmates, recently told Daily Trust:
“We played with sand together and rode straw horses… There was this time when we were children and we went to the outskirts of town to play our version of polo with straw horses and sticks, hitting a ball made from Goruba. It was
our favourite game then. As we played, I hit him with the dum-palm seed which served as a ball and he fell down. I consoled him fervently, assuring him it was a mistake, so much so that he also began to console me. That’s his character: he was the wronged party, yet he was telling me sorry.”

Reminisce has some nice things to say about his Marriage

In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, music crooner Reminisce spoke a lot about his wife of 13 years. He revealed that he and his wife dated for about nine years before they got married. He said that they were twenty years old when they met.

Hear him:

“Not many people know that I have been married for over 13 years because I do not announce it. I choose to let people know whatever I feel they should know at whatever time I feel it is appropriate. It was her birthday, I am 34 years old and she also clocked 34, so I wished her a happy birthday on Instagram.

“Our relationship worked because we know what we want out of it. As an individual, I know what I want and I know the kind of people I move with. I
knew those that are close to me now before I became famous. The same thing applies to my relationship, I stick with the person I love and that I am comfortable with.”

Talking further about his spouse, the singer said:

“My wife and I fight a lot, we argue every time but she is my friend and I love her a lot. She acts like a man and she is my best friend. We don’t see
ourselves as husband and wife. I believe she is the only person I can live with and she is the only one that can look out for me. I value her opinion
because she had been with me before I became popular and she really knows me. She is a nice person and everybody is always comfortable around her. She understands my job and knows that I have to do certain things in order to make money.”

He admitted that his wife hardly listens to his music but his daughter is a huge fan of his….

“I named my album after my daughter because when she was born, we were really struggling and we did not have money. I did not begin to attain stardom till she was two years old. Things were
very difficult for us then but now, it is time to pamper her.”

Often being compared with wave-making singer, Olamide, Reminisce said:

“Olamide is younger than I am in the music industry. We were together when he started with ID Cabassa. He has always been my brother and the comparison is a good thing. Nollywood Actor Ernest Asuzu Accuses Colleagues of Neglect

A popular Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu is reportedly going through hard times at the moment and is practically begging to survive.

According to Daily Independent report, he was seen at Shoprite, Surulere, on May 24, Sunday, looking very pathetic. Ernest who suffered stroke some months back was spotted still limping.

The actor, who was dressed in a Manchester United jersey, blue jean pants and bathroom slippers was said to be practically begging shoppers money to eat.

According to him, the president of Actors Guild, Ibinabo Fiberesima and some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry are aware of his condition but have refused to come to his aid.

He said he now depends on good spirited Nigerians for survival. In an old interview, Ernest had accused the AGN president, Ibinabo of not caring saying, “ I was in LASUTH for two months, three days and for that long, nobody from Nollywood, not even Ibinabo, visited me. And she heard
that I was admitted there. My friends told her that I was down with stroke and she pretended as if she didn’t hear. It’s not fair. I’m a human being too.

“I am limping right now, because I have stroke. I am limping because my people don’t care. I’m limping because the industry is already messed up. I don’t know what Ibinabo is doing. Ibinabo is just gallivanting. She is having fun and that is not the reason we put her there.
She should go out there and fight for our people .

Power Supply will continue to deteriorate if we don't stop Vandalism - FG

The federal government on Monday revealed the reason for the deteriorating power situation in the country: Only 5 out of 23 power plants in the country are working.
Vanguard reports that the news was revealed via a statement released by Chairman of the National electricity
Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi: “In the last couple of months, electricity supply has been generally poor on account of increase in vandalism in the run up to the April 2015 elections. But this bad supply condition has worsened in the
last few days. At present, 18 out of the 23 power plants in the country are unable to generate electricity due
shortage of gas supply to the thermal plants with one of the hydro stations faced with water management issue. This has led to loss of over 2,000mega watts in the national grid. “This situation is further compounded by the recent industrial actions embarked upon by workers in the oil and gas industry, a development which is taking
toll on other sectors of the economy. Gas supplies to the thermal plants have been further constrained by the industrial actions of workers in the oil and gas industry.
The Commission had proactively engaged the gas supply companies and its licensees when two weeks ago discussion was held on how to firm up
gas supply in order to increase power supply.
Unfortunately, not much progress was made through this meeting as NNPC and its subsidiary Nigeria Gas Company, disclosed high incidence of
vandalism in some areas that were relatively peaceful along its pipeline networks.
That meeting was told of the damage done to Trans-Forcados pipeline in the western axis and elps gas pipeline in the eastern axis. Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had explained at
the meeting that repair works are being intensified even as it expressed worry on the integrity of the pipelines on account of incessant damage it has
sustained.
In essence, what has brought about this
development is the increased incidence of vandalism which is beyond the control of the regulator and the industry operators. This situation is further compounded by the industry actions
declared by the oil and gas workres.
However, we have continued to engage with relevant authorities on how fast we can address shortage of gas supply to the thermal plants. We are also engaging with the industry operators on
how to improve electricity supply.
The Commission regrets the hardships which Nigerians are being subjected to on account of this development as we intensify efforts to bring the situation under control in the shortest possible
time.”

THE National Association of Nigerian Students ( NANS) has warned South African President, Jacob Zuma , not to come to Nigeria for the inauguration of
President- Elect , Muhammadu Buhari .
The warning followed what they described as Zuma ’ s poor handling of the xenophobic attacks on some Africans , including Nigerians , in his country in April .
According to a statement signed by NANS President, Tijani Usman, the failure of the South African President to apologise to Nigerians after the attacks was distasteful , even as they expressed their anger in a statement signed by its The statement in part reads:
“ We wish to advise the South African President ( Jacob Zuma ) to rather stay at home and address burning issues, rather than embarking on a visit that is the least desirable .

“ The South African President’ s failure to apologise to Nigeria for the losses the country and our citizens incurred during the xenophobic attacks on foreigners
leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

“ There is therefore , no point felicitating with a people who clearly do not matter much to you . President Zuma ’ s visit will only amount to pretence . ”

Photo: Terrifying Ghost Appears Behind Angler as He Poses with His Prized Catch

A ghostly apparition appeared in the background as a fisherman posed for a photograph with his prized catch.

The terrifying face can clearly be seen behind Wayne Foulkes as he holds the 16lb carp at Ponciau Pool, in Wrexham, north Wales.

The angler was delighted after reeling in the fish but his joy turned to surprise when he saw the ghoulish orange face
behind him.

Ponciau councillor Paul Pemberton says the pond has a “grim past”, though the mysterious image has left locals scratching their heads.

Paul said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw it but it is a 100 per cent a genuine photo and you can definitely see eyes, nose, teeth and a whole face in the background.

“I know there have been a couple of suicides in that water and it really does have a grim past.

“In the last 30 years, there was one guy who lost his life there and another lad called Owen who is believed to have
committed suicide there too.

“But it’s a mystery as that place is in the middle of the village and is surrounded by houses and this is the first report we have had of any ghosts.

“It’s certainly brought a smile to people in the village and I’m sure we might get the Ghostbusters around soon.”

The Kwara State Polytechnic graduate who joined the industry in 2008, has lots of movies to her credit, both the English and Yoruba genre.

In a new interview with Vanguard, the Kwara state born actress who is based Malaysia talked about her acting career, her soon-to-be released movie, ‘Eko’, and how her body feature has helped in getting her roles. Read excerpts below:



What are you currently working on?

My movie ‘Eko’ which literally means ‘Lesson’. The film is an eye-opener for people who believe that without travelling abroad they cannot make it in this life. The film is planned to educate them that it’s not until you travel abroad before you make it, just focus on what you’re doing and you can make it anywhere.

Which has been your biggest movie so far?

It’s a movie called Ere; a Yoruba movie. There’s another one called Omo Malaysia. In fact , there are many of them I can’t remember right now

 

How has the journey in Nollywood been?

Stressful, I will say. For one, there is the issue of location logistics. At times they may lodge you in a hotel without adequate facilities. And because this is a profession you love, you have to manage whatever is thrown at you. Even feeding, at times on location, becomes a problem because adequate provisions are not made. It has not been easy, at all, but we have to stick to it because it is a profession we love.

 

 

 

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

You know Jide Kosoko? There was a time I was supposed to play a role alongside him but he brought someone else instead. He said he wanted the person to play the role in my place. I felt very bad. Along the line he changed his mind and asked me to take the role but I had been so heartbroken that I couldn’t pick myself up again. I eventually lost the role.



How do you get into character when you see scripts?

Since you love it and you enjoy doing it, it’s very easy. If you love acting, once you’re given a role it would be easy for you to act it out.



Who is your biggest inspiration in acting?

Ayo Adesanya



Can you do something sexy in a movie?

Yes, I can be very sexy and very romantic.


Can you flaunt your boobs, stuff like that?

It’s part of acting so I can do it. I can play any role. Once you’re an actor, you should be able to play any role

 

Have your boobs ever helped you in getting a role?

Yes, they have. In one English movie, though the movie is not yet out, they wanted someone that has big boobs and can flaunt it, so they called me. I was called by Laitan Sugar and it was because of my boobs they called me for that job. I played the role of a bad character in the movie

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

There is an actress, I cannot recall the name now, who accused me of not showing respect by greeting. Funny enough, I greeted her but she chose to ignore, the greeting, coming back to embarrass me in the presence of others that I did not great her. That really got me down. She did not just say I didn’t greet her, she also asked me to go home because she was in charge. That was really embarrassing.

Has anyone ever told you to date him for a role?

Yes, but I tell them that I cannot use my body to get roles.



What is your success secret as an actress?

My biggest plan is to be a great actress, well respected and loved. That’s why I watch how I relate with everyone in the industry. I don’t date guys in the industry but I respect everybody because I believe everybody is important. I think that has been helping me for so long.



Why did you choose to become an actress?

Since I was a child I have always wanted to be an actress. As a child I was always so absorbed and carried away watching stars on television. Each time I always told myself one day I would be like them. When I started I got to love it even more than before.



Are you done with school?

Yes for now. I studied Business Administration at Kwara State Polytechnic, just ND. I’m based in Malaysia now and I have a special course I’m doing there.



What more should people expect from you?

Right now, no movie again this year. I’ve done my movie Eko and before I can do another one, it would take me another one year.



Why that long?

I don’t want it to be anyhow, I want my movies to be once in a year so I can have time to plan it.



Who stars in that movie with you?

I have a guy called Okunnu, Jide Kosoko, Laitan Sugar and Lateef. I also have Saheed Osupa. I did it in Malaysia and I finished the rest in Nigeria; Osupa was there in the movie I did in Malaysia.



What else do you want to say?

I will say this; keep doing what you know how to do. Being an actress is not really easy but you have to be very patient and you don’t get angry easily. You smile at everything and make yourself happy. Respect everyone so you can get there. too.

 

 

Nigerian Army Apprehends Boko Haram Sponsor In Bauchi

The Nigerian military claimed on May 19 that they had arrested one Aliyu Hussaini, a suspected Boko Haram sponsor.

The man was reportedly detained in Bauchi in the course of the army raid.
Hussaini, who pretended to be a serving general in the army, was apprehended by the soldiers from 33 Artillery Brigade.

See the statement as provided on Tuesday on the official site of the Nigerian Army:

“The 33 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army has recorded another land mark success in the ongoing Operation Zaman Lafiyah as troops of the Brigade
recently arrested one Aliyu Hussaini, popularly known as Colonel, a suspected Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) member and an Impostor who has
been parading himself as a Brigadier General in the Nigerian Army.

“The troops who were acting on a tip off, said Aliyu Hussaini was a sponsor and also a member of the Boko Haram Terrorist organisation, carried out a raid operation which led to the successful
arrest of Aliyu and another suspected BHT member, one Ibrahim Mohammed who is also known as Yuram. It was later gathered that Aliyu had been defrauding innocent citizens in the belief that he was a general in the Nigerian Army.”

Meanwhile Kashim Shettima, Borno state governor, yesterday disclosed that the insurgents were likely holding the missing Chibok girls in Sambisa Forest
bunkers. Therefore he urged the military to “carry out their operations beyond the surface earth”

Violet Iles, 25 (pictured) and David Long, 32, kept the car running with the windows rolled up for about 90 minutes to conserve heat on a 40-degree night in Glencoe,WCPO reports. They couldn’t sense the poisonous, odorless gas
seeping in from the vehicle’s rusty tailpipe.

Gallatin County Sheriff Josh Neale told the station that the pair was having sex at the time, though the sheriff’s department later refuted that claim, saying the “couple was sleeping,” the New York Daily News reports.

Long’s brother Kevin, who lives nearby where the car was parked, found the couple’s bodies on May 13 at about 6:40
a.m., as he was walking his children to the school bus.

“I pulled him [Long] out and I tried to do CPR on him, and the paramedics tried to talk me through it over the phone,” Kevin Long told WCPO.

The sheriff’s office warned that anyone staying in their car for an extended period of time should roll the windows down or turn off the vehicle. The department is awaiting toxicology REPORTS to see whether the couple was on drugs or alcohol at the time.

Meanwhile, Iles’ sister has set up a GoFundMe page to support Iles’ family and the two children, ages 4 and 6, whom she leaves behind.

“My sister was a wonderful woman who would have given you the shirt off her back even if she didn’t know you,” the
woman writes.

Sad: 14 Killed In Ekiti, Plateau, Benue Mayhem

FOURTEEN people were killed in separate violence that rocked Ekiti, Plateau and Benue states on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Three of the deaths were recorded in Ado Ekiti during a clash between transport workers and Hausa traders while six were in Plateau State where gunmen invaded four villages in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

The third incident which was also by gunmen left five persons dead in Jooter, Ukum Local Government Area of   Benue state.

The Ado Ekiti fracas was said to have started building up on Tuesday night when a bag belonging to the wife of a chieftain of the road transport workers was snatched by unknown persons along the ever-busy Ijigbo-Old Garage area of the city.

The victim was also allegedly raped, a development that irked the drivers who, engaged the Hausa in a fre-for-all in Erekesan Market, Oja Oba in the state capital.

An eyewitness said the victim’s husband reported the matter to his colleagues after his efforts to identify the perpetrators failed.

He added that butchers who, are mainly Yoruba, fought on the side of the Hausa against the transport workers whom they accused of undue harassment and unprovoked attacks.

“The fighting was made worse by hoodlums who joined the transport workers. They were fighting with guns, bottles, charms, clubs, cutlasses and knives. At least three people died. Some were also injured,” he told one of our correspondents.

Our correspondent in the state reported that the violence spread from the market – Old Garage – Mugbagba axis of the city to Atikankan area, a converging point for many Hausa traders in the state.

As of the time of filing this report, Ajilosun, Okeyinmi, Okesha and Irona were no-go areas .

According to our correspondent, the hoodlums vandalised many vehicles and set many shops at the Erekesan Market ablaze after looting them .

Banks and other business outlets operating in the city were forced to shut down to avoid being looted by the hoodlums.

Sunday Adigun, a cameraman with the Core TV, who was beaten to a pulp, had his camera smashed for trying to cover the fighting which was hijacked by hoodlums.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Alberto Adeyemi, did not confirm the deaths but he said that four persons wounded during the fracas were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

The state new Commissioner of Police, Etop James, who spoke with residents of the affected areas, expressed regrets over the incident and promised to restore normalcy in the city.

Our correspondent in Plateau State   gathered that the attack on the four villages in Barkin LGA – Jong, Lobirin, Rabuk and Zim – was a reprisal by some armed youths for similar incidents   in some Fulani communities.

Police Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Abu, who confirmed the attack, said no arrest had been made.

Abu added that the Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki, had ordered the redeployment of more policemen   in the LGA to prevent further attacks.

He urged the affected communities to remain calm and report any suspicious movement to the police.

The PUNCH gathered in Benue State that about 10 gunmen in a Toyota vehicle shot sporadically at people at a drinking spot in Jooter, Ukum LGA, killing five of them.

The gunmen were said to be looking for a target who was said to have gone to the place to have a drink.

An eyewitness who did not want his name in print said that the “target” was   among the injured.

The state Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Austin Ezeani, who confirmed the incident, said that   three people were killed and five critically injured.

Govs ask Okonjo-Iweala to account for $20bn

Nigeria governors’ forum (NGF)
wants Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, to account for $20 billion being accruals of the excess crude account (ECA) from May 2013 tillApril 2015.

Rotimi Amaechi, chairman of NGF, made the demand at the end of a four-hour meeting that held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

“In the light of the fact that funds in the Excess Crude Account were last disbursed in May 2013, there is need for the minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to provide explanations
for accruals to this account from June 2013 to April 2015, which is estimated at over $20 billion,” he said while reading a communiqué issued at the meeting.

The forum also announced that Abdulaziz Yari, governor of Zamfara state, had been elected as new chairman of the NGF, and congratulated Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect, over his victory in the election. It also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for accepting the
outcome of the poll.

“Governor Abdul Yari Aziz of Zamfara state emerged as the new chairman by consensus for a one-year period from May 2015 to May 2016,” the communique read. “We are hereby reconciled and reunited as a single umbrella association of the 36 state governors of Nigeria regardless of party or region.
“Forum congratulates the president- elect, Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in the recent presidential election, which was held on March 28, 2015, and President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship in accepting the outcome of the elections.”

Twenty governors attended the meeting.
The NGF had split into two two factions headed by Amaechi and Jonah Jang, his Plateau counterpart. Amaechi had secured 19 votes to Jang’s 16 to emerge governor of the forum in May 2013, but with his disagreement with President Goodluck Jonathan, the president opted to recognise Jang as the chairman.

Rescued ‘Sambisa woman’ tests positive to HIV

One of the hundreds of girls and women rescued in a series of military raids on Boko Haram’s Sambisa hideout has confirmed that she tested positive to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) upon regaining her freedom.

The Nigerian military has rescued more than 700 girls and women in the last month, and it is unclear how many of
them are pregnant or with the HIV virus, as nurses at the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps hosting the victims say many of them, out of shame, have recently been denying the violations they suffered from the insurgents.

On April 28, the Nigerian military rescued 200 girls and 93 women from Sambisa forest.
The following day, it announced that troops of the 7 division Nigerian army had rescued additional women from the forest while insurgents’ camps at Wulari Bukar,
Gangala, Anguwar Bakwai, Jigide, Kotorima, Lagara Bello and Lagara Fulani were destroyed.

Within the same week, it announced the rescue of another batch of 234 women and children from the zone, and this
was followed, weeks later, by the rescue of 25 more victims .

Speaking with New York Times , 30-year-old Yahauwa said she, alongside many other women, was raped repeatedly
and threatened with death. “Is it from the people who forced me to have affairs with
them?” she asked a relief worker on receiving the HIV test result, wiping the tears streaming down her face with her
green head scarf.

Later, she explained that she and many other women were “locked in one big room” and selected at random for sex.
“When they came, they would select the one they wanted to sleep with,” she said. “They said, ‘If you do not marry us,
we will slaughter you.’ ”

Another woman, Hamsatu, 25, said she was four months pregnant and that the father was a Boko Haram member whom she was forced to have sex with.
“They married me; they chose the ones they wanted to marry,” she said. “If anybody shouts, they said they would
shoot them.” Yana, a young woman wearing sparkling golden bangles, said the fighters had “packed” her — a word many women have used to describe their imprisonment — with about 50 other women in a house in Bama.

“Inside the house, if they want to have an affair with a woman, they will just take her to a private place, so that the others won’t see,” she said. She could not recall her age, and a relief worker at the camp
said she had been raped so often by that she was “psychologically affected”.
But Fanna, a 12-year-old girl had told relief officials in her camp entry interview that she was raped several times, was
suddenly insisting that she wasn’t touched.

Her denial was consistent with TheCable’s findings when it visited IDP camps in Yola, capital of Adamawa state, where most of the ex-Sambisa captives were living.
